Fish and chips is an English classic. Fish Works, in the town of Largs (population 11,000) on Scotland's west coast, served us the best fish and chips we've had.

Our choice among the fish was haddock. If you find yourself in Largs, be sure to have fish and chips here. The biggest surprise was that the restaurant manager turned out to be Turkish — our thanks to Önder Bey for his attention.
