Ayaspasa Russian Restaurant

Ayaspaşa Russian Restaurant has been welcoming guests in Taksim Gümüşsuyu since 1943. The historic texture takes you in as soon as you walk through the door.
The menu is naturally Russian-leaning: we'd particularly recommend the mimosa salad, selyodka with potatoes (herring), Russian salad, pelmeni (Russian dumplings), Napoleon (Russian cake) and the schnitzel. The chicken Kiev in particular was magnificent.
We didn't catch it, but apparently there's live music on Friday and Saturday evenings. The room isn't large, and the regulars generally fill it. With the owners themselves running the floor, an enjoyable and delicious meal awaits in a genuinely warm setting.
