Balıkçı Soner in Etiler is a place we'd been hearing about from several different people. Ambitious about turbot, Soner shows real mastery there.
The restaurant, on Dere Sokak in Fatih Sultan Mehmet Mahallesi, is a little rough and ready, but an address turbot lovers should visit.
The meze were good in general, but the turbot was genuinely superb. Ordering turbot means accepting a certain bill, but even so Soner's came in lower than the Bosphorus fish restaurants.
