For meat there is Elbet Steakhouse — don't leave without the beef sushi, the bone marrow and the house-made sausage. For kebab, Fiko has been raising the bar for years. We keep our distance from chains, but the Etiler branch of Günaydın Kebap is one of our exceptions.

For sushi, İoki Etiler is our favourite of their branches — book a table on the terrace if the weather is good. For Miyabi, and especially on a Friday night, book early.

On the Italian side Da Mario has been in the same spot since 1993; Pinoli Italian Kitchen stands out for its fresh pasta.

For a smash burger, Supernormal Burger; for tex-mex, Cross Fingers; for Mexican, Mezkla over in Akatlar.

The Alkent arcade has quietly turned into a small food destination in recent years — Tike and Cross Fingers are both there. In Ulus, Mon Bakehouse is the place for coffee and its own pastries, and Aşkana, open for over thirty years, for mantı and çiğ börek. And on the Michelin side, Arkestra.
