Il Sud Istanbul
Il Sud is a very accomplished Italian restaurant in the lively streets of Kadıköy. The standard of cooking in this small, likeable room is remarkably high.
The pizzas are Neapolitan-style and very good. Of the starters we tried, the fried tripe was unusual and good.
Our favourites, though, were the fresh pastas: both the ravioli with charred aubergine and the tagliatelle with porcini were top class, in sauce and pasta alike.
Getting to Il Sud by car through Kadıköy's busy streets is a little awkward, but if you're in the area it's a lovely option for an enjoyable meal.
