Olden 1772
Olden 1772 is one of Istanbul's new and much-discussed places. Dazzling in its striking decoration, Olden has opened inside the 250-year-old Muhsinoğlu Han in Sirkeci. The decoration really is very impressive.
Olden's menu is a little confused — presumably because they want to serve both tourists and Istanbul locals, it has come out somewhat scattered. But the flavours and presentation of what we tried were accomplished. We believe that in time they'll create a more distinctive menu for this characterful room.
Of what we tried, the lakerda oturtma, the atom kokoreç, the quail with beğendi and the beef lokum were all very good.
Olden has become a place worth seeing for a different Istanbul experience.
