Velavevodetto

Our second post from Rome is Velavevodetto, another restaurant devoted to Roman cooking. When you first open the menu, you're met by a list of dishes they say they don't serve (fettuccine bolognese, Alfredo, lasagne and cappuccino). It's a witty way of explaining the place's loyalty to classic Roman cooking.
We began with cacio e pepe spaghetti, made with nothing but pecorino, black pepper and pasta water. A simple but magnificent classic.
Another Lazio classic, pasta alla gricia, was magnificent. We were then lucky enough to catch picchiapò, a Roman classic beef dish served after five or six hours of cooking.
We left very happy after finishing with another wonderful tiramisu and a chocolate cake.
