Alaf Kuruçeşme

Alaf2Tek is the meyhane version of our favourite place, Alaf — somewhere to stand and have a couple of drinks.

In the same building as Alaf, at tables set out on the street, you perch on a stool, drink your rakı from a tea glass, and still meet a kitchen of superior quality.

Of what we tried, the kokoreç with avocado sauce, the herb mücver, the grilled smoked purslane, the beef short rib in demi-glace and the çiğ köfte were exquisite.

Both Alaf and Alaf2Tek have been our favourite places in Istanbul for a while now.
